i am also working on an arkanoid game. and i have a previous less ambitious one already published.

very good concept. but during screen transitions it becomes distracting and can lose the ball. maybe return the ball to the paddle for safety when new area is unlocked. also consider a progression mode where you can unlock starting at a higher level.
